1. Scope and acceptance
By using rides, reservations or goods deliveries through our app or public website, you accept these terms. If you use the platform as a taxi-company (tenant) or its administrator, additional terms may apply to your business relationship with the operator, governed by a separate agreement outside this consumer-facing document.
2. Roles on the platform
The platform distinguishes these roles: customer/rider — books rides, reservations and deliveries; driver — performs rides and deliveries assigned by dispatch; taxi-company (tenant) — a company operating its own fleet on the platform; tenant administrator — manages their company's settings, pricing and drivers in the console; platform operator — the entity named in the Privacy Policy that operates the GL-TAXI platform.
3. Account requirements
Registration happens via email and password, or a phone number with a one-time code (Supabase Auth). At registration you confirm you meet the applicable age requirement. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
4. Platform purpose
GL-TAXI is a multi-tenant dispatch platform connecting customers with taxi companies (tenants) for rides, reservations and goods deliveries. Each taxi company configures its own operating hours and pricing rules for its fleet in the console.
5. Rides
You request an on-demand ride in the app, see a fare quote before you confirm, and once a driver is assigned you can track their live position on the map.
6. Reservations
You can schedule a ride ahead of time for a chosen date and time. The reservation is passed to dispatch as the scheduled time approaches.
7. Goods delivery
A delivery order is delivered to the address you provide. For goods flagged as age-restricted, the delivering driver verifies the recipient's age at the door and may refuse delivery if age cannot be confirmed.
8. Dispatch
Requests are automatically routed to an available nearby driver by the platform's dispatch system. We do not guarantee a specific driver, ETA, or that a driver will be available at any given time.
9. Pricing and fare calculation
The fare is calculated according to the pricing rules configured by the taxi company (tenant) fulfilling your request, and is shown to you before you confirm a ride. GL-TAXI does not itself set a platform-wide standard fare, and these terms do not promise any specific price, surcharge or discount.
10. Payment flow
Payment is processed by Stripe. Your card is authorized when you request or confirm a ride, reservation or delivery. Depending on how the trip ends, you may separately authorize, at checkout, the driver or taxi company to capture a final, possibly adjusted fare after the ride without re-entering your card — only where you have given that authorization.
11. Cancellation and refunds
Cancellation handling and any applicable refund are determined by the taxi company (tenant) fulfilling your ride, reservation or delivery. Where a refund is due, it is issued back through Stripe to your original payment method. These terms do not promise a specific cancellation window, fee, or refund guarantee, since those are set individually by each taxi company.
12. Right of withdrawal
The general 14-day distance-contract withdrawal right (Chapter § 14 to § 22 of Act No. 108/2024 Z. z. on consumer protection, effective 1 July 2024, which replaced the now-repealed Act No. 102/2014 Z. z.) does not, under that law, apply to passenger-transport contracts — that is, to rides or reservations. The law nevertheless continues to apply § 17(3)-(6), which govern information and payment obligations for an electronic order, not the consumer's right to withdraw from the contract. For goods delivery at a precisely agreed time, the same withdrawal exception applies, tied to the agreed delivery time.
13. Rider/customer responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate pickup/delivery information and contact details, to be reasonably available at the agreed location and time, to cooperate with age verification for age-restricted goods, and to use chat and ratings respectfully, not to harass drivers.
14. Driver and taxi-company responsibilities
Taxi companies and drivers are responsible for holding any license, permit, insurance and vehicle roadworthiness required by applicable transport law in the jurisdiction where they operate. The platform does not itself issue or verify such licenses beyond the driver, vehicle and fleet records a tenant administrator maintains in the console.
15. Prohibited use
Fraudulent or abusive use of dispatch, payment, rating or chat features, attempting to circumvent payment or fares, harassment or unlawful conduct toward drivers, customers or staff, and any use that violates applicable law are all prohibited.
16. Account suspension and termination
An account (customer, driver, or tenant administrator) may be suspended or terminated by the platform operator, or, for tenant-scoped accounts, by the relevant tenant administrator, where these terms or applicable law are violated. A customer may stop using the service at any time.
17. Service availability
The platform is provided on a reasonable-efforts, "as available" basis. Parts of the service depend on third-party providers (payment processing, maps/routing, push notifications, authentication) and may be temporarily unavailable if one of those providers is unavailable. No uptime guarantee is made by these terms.
18. Third-party services
The platform uses Stripe (payments), Google Maps/Places/Routes (maps and routing), Supabase (authentication and database) and Expo (push notifications). By using the platform you also agree to use these embedded third-party services as built into the platform, for example not attempting to bypass Stripe's checkout process.
19. Intellectual property
The GL-TAXI name, brand and the platform's software remain the property of the platform operator. Content you submit (chat messages, ratings, partner-enquiry messages) is used only to provide the relevant feature to you and the other party to that interaction (e.g. your driver) — it is not licensed to the operator for any other use.
20. Liability and disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the platform is provided without warranties beyond those required by law, and the platform operator's liability for indirect or consequential loss is limited; nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable consumer-protection law.
21. Alternative dispute resolution
If you're a consumer and you're not satisfied with how we handled your complaint, or we haven't responded to your request within 30 days of you sending it, you have the right to submit a proposal for alternative dispute resolution under § 12 of Act No. 391/2015 Z. z. on alternative resolution of consumer disputes. The competent body is the Slovak Trade Inspection (Slovenská obchodná inšpekcia), Bajkalská 21/A, 827 99 Bratislava 27, www.soi.sk, or another authorized entity listed by Slovakia's Ministry of Economy (mhsr.sk) — the choice is yours. The EU's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform was discontinued as of 20 July 2025; the European Commission now maintains a current EU-wide list of alternative dispute resolution bodies at consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu.
22. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with an updated version; continuing to use the platform after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
23. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Slovak Republic, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the competent Slovak courts.
24. Governing language
These Terms are prepared in Slovak and English. Unless stated otherwise, the Slovak-language version is the governing version; the English version is provided for convenience, and in case of any discrepancy, the Slovak version prevails.
